In order to better guide teachers and students to accumulate academic research experience, on December 12th, 2023, the School of Management invited Chunming Shi, professor and doctoral supervisor of Lazaridis School of Business, Laurel University, Canada, to give an offline lecture entitled Strategic Benefits of Supply Chain (Partial) Decentralization in the Administration Building 906. The lecture was hosted over by Dr. Chengcheng Zhao from School of Management.
Dr. Chungming Shi firstly introduced the basic information of Lazaridis School of Business at Laurier University in Canada. He then explained in detail the strategic benefits of (partial) supply chain decentralization, including literature review, basic model, model extension and thesis conclusions and future research.
In this academic lecture, Dr. Chungming Shi went through the important points and academic value of the article, concluding that a manufacturer's equilibrium ownership share decreases with the length of the decision horizon. At the end of the lecture, the teachers and students fully discussed the basic model established in the paper with Prof. Shi, and exchanged ideas about the future research direction of the paper. The teachers and students said that the lecture provided a reference for academic research.
